OnPar GPSThe OnPar GPS is certainly one of the more popular golf GPS systems available. And just judging by the game improvement features it has to offer it is clear why so many golfers are very happy with it. The OnPar GPS is very user friendly and looks more like an iPhone then a golf GPS. The OnPar GPS was one of the first touch screen GPS systems to come along. As such they have been able to fine tune and refine it over time.

Probably The Coolest Feature Of The OnPar GPS Is OnClub

You may be thinking you already know your current averages , however when you monitor the shots using OnClub it can provide you with a legitimate impression. OnPar supplies this plus it conforms to USGA and RCGA regulations.

Whenever you track shots using OnPar, the club yardages will be stored and submitted back as minimum, average, and maximum for every golf club. Then when you play additional rounds and also log a lot more shots, OnClub will be updated showing your present golf club efficiency. A simple touch can access these details from the record to help you choose from a full 9i or perhaps a easy 8i.

“This is the best GPS I have ever owned. I love the use of the touchscreen instead of buttons and the quick response.”

“I only played with my OnPar GPS twice, I didn’t use all the features but so far so good, it’s a little bit distracting at first but as you use it more and more it becomes second nature. When I use it with the finger is sometimes un-responsive but I found out that if you use a “tee” it works perfect. Con: It will be nice to include a built-in stylus with the OnPar GPS.”

“The OnPar GPS has nifty features and I have had absolutely no trouble downloading all of the courses I play in VA and MD. I bought the OnPar GPS more for the ability to keep and track shots, club distance averages and scores, all of which work as promised, and the range finder is also very accurate. The OnPar GPS was a splurge at $299, but with no future fees, and with all the features it has, I’m very happy with my purchase.”

“OnPar GPS has the largest screen and easy to read numbers, map view, and thin and light. I can see it, it’s not bulky, and it doesn’t get in my way. I just started tracking shots so my club averages get updated which is really cool. I don’t have to do anything but touch the little white ball on the screen next to each shot. It’s interesting to see your real club averages, because you think you know, but I have been trying to hit too little club too far. Now I know better and the OnPar GPS club averages don’t lie to me (for better or worse).”

“The biggest concern the OnPar GPS has been availability of courses. Fortunately, here in Scottsdale/Phoenix the majority of the courses I play have already been mapped.”

Check for Your Courses before Buying, September 2, 2010

“I agree with most of the comments in other reviews I’ve found on the OnPar GPS. I haven’t had any freezing problems in the several months I’ve had the OnPar GPS. But several of my regular courses, including a league course, are unavailable. And getting them on the company’s to-do list appears impossible. As of today there are about 15 courses in my state listed as available in 4-5 days. Most have been listed that way for weeks/months. Also, they are mapping a bunch of par 3 course instead of requested courses. What is that about? I’d never buy another OnPar GPS until they improve their service. Is there only 1 person there mapping?”

The one most common complaint I’ve found with the OnPar GPS is a lack of mapped courses. Seems to have been a problem from the start and it appears that this is still an issue. You would think this would have had plenty of time to be resolved. The OnPar GPS has been available for a couple years now, check for your course before you buy a OnPar GPS.
