Awesome GPS, best available, May 24, 2010 Appljaxx “Appljaxx” (Albuquerque, NM) – Source Amazon SkyCaddie SGX. All in all, this is a great machine that will only get better as time goes on and skycaddie updates with new features. I would recommend over all other GPS on the market.
No sync issues for me, June 26, 2010 By Tish (Salem, NH United States) – Source Amazon I bought my SkyCaddie SGX about a month ago and really do like it. I was a little nervous when I read the reviews about the problems with the syncing. I’d say my computer skills are above average but I am certainly no ‘tech guy’. Anyway, I had no issues at all, it synced right up. You hook it to your computer via USB cable and you will likely need to tell your virus protection software to allow it access to the internet.
Great Product, July 16, 2010 By bottomgunner, source Amazon Received my SkyCaddie SGX in the mail yesterday. Read the instructions and had no problems at all with activating, syncing, downloading courses etc. Any updates to the SGX software automatically get uploaded when you plug it into the computer. Very happy with my purchase. Would recommend this item to anyone who wants to improve their game.
Great golf helper, August 19, 2010 By sonicman1 – Source Amazon Purchased this item in July 2010 after I had heard all the plus/negative about the SkyCaddie SGX. My son had an older unit that we enjoyed together. I had no problem downloading or registering my product but then I am only running Windows XP. I use it not only on the course for yardage measurements but also to keep score and track my shots (number of putts per round, driving distance etc.) and then upload them to my account so I can see where I need work on my game. Just like anything else it is only as good as you want it to be or the time that you are willing to take using the features it has. Also really like the way the “track button” works to move the cursor on the screen. Would I recommend it – yes.
SkyCaddie SGX is amazing!!, September 22, 2010 By copmutergeek13 I love it -I use it every hole multiple times -I had tried the Bushnell Yardage Pro XGC – but it didn’t have all the features of my new SkyCaddie SGX – the green view – and ability to manipulate yardage is simple hands down the best in the field. You can do so much more with a GPS unit than a laser – and it is accurate as my Bushnell Laser.
Straight from the Horse’s Mouth.
After a lengthy chat session with a SkyGolf Technician; Adam. I have concluded that the Syncing issue that many people were experiencing with the new SkyCaddie SGX was not related to the SGX. The issue was with Windows 7 and User Account Control and other advanced security in Windows 7. Adam has assured me that the issue has been resolved. I further asked him what would be the recommended actions after purchasing a new SkyCaddie SGX. Adam said “It’s best to contact SkyGolf After you purchase the SGX so that they can help you in syncing the device.” This is probably the best course of action in the first place.
Also anyone that is running an older Operating System (Vista and Older) had no issues when trying to Sync the SkyCaddie SGX.
