“The screen display in the sun is excellent as is the battery life. I have played 3 rounds without charging. Only had twice where the distance was off in the last two years of owning the product. I love the fact that you can mark a place on the hole and save it permanently. I like marking the 100/150/200 yard marks. Nice scorekeeping tool as well. If you are a walker, it will track your entire round. Nice way to show your wife that you are walking a few miles to get your exercise! I bought the lifetime course access and was the main reason I purchase the product because others wanted an annual fee.”

“I would give this 8 out of 10. First off, you can buy a one-time subscription for $30.00 which gives you lifetime access. Skycaddie is supposedly more accurate as they walk every course, whereas Sonocaddie seems to be using Google earth distances. It’s usually not an issue, but I ran into one situation on a Fazio course where the Sonocaddie was stupidly off and the Skycaddie was dead-on accurate. I would recommend this device as it really helps when I’ve hit a tee shot into parts unknown and distance to the green is needed. Again, I’d give it an 8/10 and would recommend it.”

“A great GPS with accurate distances. Easy to use – with minimal setup. Cost for downloads is negligible over the life of the product. Excellent service for mapping new courses. Highly recommended. Lack of mapped courses in Canada can be a concern to those who wish to use it in outlying areas — but the company appears to have some new satellite views available.”

“I researched all the color units and choose the 300V because of the ability to keep scoring statistics. Since my purchase I have logged over 50 rounds on more than a dozen different courses. Two of them I created myself with the easy mapping function. I signed up as a Birdie member for $29 to have unlimited downloads and it requires no annual fee. Guys in my foursome have Skycaddie, UPro and as advertised the 300V is right on with their yardages.”

“I bought this GPS recently. I tried to use this for two golf courses. One is fine, but the information of a couple of holes was not correct. The info of second golf course was not showed at all. It should be updated as soon as possible. I am disappointed.”
The biggest knock against the Sonocaddie V300 is the company’s customer service, along with their in ability to get your course mapped in a timely manner. I’ve come across several cases where a user has requested there course be added to the Sonocaddie data base and in most cases the user is still waiting or the mapping that was done is very inaccurate. Good customer service is tops in my book!
